This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you visit walkonventures.com and its subdomains (the “Site”), contact us, subscribe to our communications, or otherwise interact with us online.

This policy does not cover information we receive under a signed client engagement. That information is governed by the applicable agreement and any confidentiality terms in it.

By using the Site, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, do not use the Site.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide to us. We collect information you choose to give us, such as when you fill out a contact form, request a consultation, register for an event, subscribe to our newsletter, or email us. This may include:

  • Name, job title, and company name
  • Email address, phone number, and mailing address
  • The content of your messages and any details you share about your business or inquiry
  • Event registration details and communication preferences

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect:

  • IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system
  • Pages viewed, links clicked, referring URLs, and time spent on the Site
  • General location derived from your IP address (city or region level)
  • Email engagement data, such as whether you opened a newsletter or clicked a link

Information from other sources. We may receive business contact information from referral partners, event organizers, professional networks, and publicly available sources such as company websites and professional profiles.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information through the Site, and we ask that you not submit it.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to inquiries and provide requested information or proposals
  • Evaluate and manage potential and existing business relationships
  • Send newsletters, insights, event invitations, and other communications you have requested or that relate to our services
  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site
  • Understand how visitors use the Site and measure how our content and outreach perform
  • Show ads for our services on other platforms, such as Meta and LinkedIn, and measure how those ads perform
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions

We may aggregate or de-identify information so that it no longer identifies you. We may use that information for any lawful business purpose.

4. Cookies and Analytics

The Site uses cookies, pixels, and similar technologies. They keep the Site working, remember your preferences, and show us how visitors use it.

We may use third-party analytics services, such as Google Analytics, to understand Site traffic and usage. These providers may set their own cookies and collect information about your use of the Site and other websites. You can learn how Google uses this information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We may also use advertising pixels and tags from platforms such as Meta (the Meta Pixel) and LinkedIn (the LinkedIn Insight Tag). These tools collect information such as your IP address, browser and device details, and the pages you visit. We use them to measure our ads and to show our ads to people who have visited the Site. We may also upload hashed (encoded) email addresses of our contacts to these platforms. The platforms match them to user accounts so we can show our ads to those people or to similar audiences. Each platform processes this information under its own privacy policy.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. If you do, some parts of the Site may not work as intended. Some browsers send “Do Not Track” signals. There is no common standard for these signals, so the Site does not currently respond to them. Where required by law, we will honor recognized opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We may share limited information with advertising partners, as described below. Some state privacy laws treat this as a “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising.” You can opt out as described in Section 8. We may share information as follows:

  • Service providers. Vendors who help us operate our business, such as website hosting, email and newsletter platforms, CRM and scheduling tools, analytics providers, and event services. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
  • Advertising partners. Platforms such as Meta and LinkedIn, through pixels, tags, and hashed contact lists, to show and measure ads for our services. These platforms may combine this information with other data they hold and use it under their own privacy policies.
  • Affiliates. Entities under common ownership or control with WOV, where relevant to your inquiry and consistent with this policy.
  • Professional advisors. Lawyers, accountants, and other advisors who are bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business or assets.
  • Legal and safety. When we believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or is needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of WOV, our clients, or others.
  • With your consent. For any other purpose disclosed to you at the time you provide the information.

6. Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy. Those purposes include maintaining business relationships, meeting legal, tax, and accounting requirements, resolving disputes, and enforcing our agreements. When we no longer need it, we delete or de-identify it.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you share information with us at your own risk.

8. Your Choices

  • Email communications. You can unsubscribe from our newsletters and marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us. We may still send you non-promotional messages about an existing business relationship.
  • Cookies. You can manage cookies through your browser settings as described in Section 4.
